THE METAMORPHOSIS
Inspired by Franz Kafka’s seminal novella, Short Straw is currently developing a new interdisciplinary work exploring gender and exploitation.
The Metamorphosis has been generously supported by Union House Theatre. In March 2025, Short Straw undertook a first-stage creative development at the Guild Theatre, University of Melbourne.
This first-stage residency explored shadow work, projection, text and movement improvisation. Further developments seek to combine these elements with circus performance and live music.
